joecookie was born and raised in Beantown, MA and managed to shed the horrid Bahstin accent by age 14 when he began traveling the USA as a sponsored BMXer and BMX filmer.

In the mid-late 90s he worked on several influential BMX video projects for Standard Byke Co., Props AV, Ride BMX and ESPN (when they decided that BMX could make Disney $$$).

After graduating from the Art Institute joecookie moved to So-Cal, home of the BMX industry where he became Project Manager for 411VM’s BMX series.
In 2004 joecookie moved back to Boston to join XY, a TV network launched by American radio personality John Garabiedien. XY aired 100% original content 5 days a week. After starting as a producer of Video Lounge Live, cookie then took on the role of lead editor for the show Roomies, where he was responsible for editing three 30 minute episodes of the “Real Worldesque” reality series each week.

During this period joecookie also managed to freelance for clients such as MTV, Transworld BMX, Fuel TV, RedBull Mexico and Redbull USA.

In 2005 he produced, shot and edited RedBull’s No Problemo, a film focusing on RedBull’s BMX team and friends as they travel from Mexico City to Monterrey to compete in a contest held in a sewer. No Problemo is still one of the most widely distributed BMX videos of all time.
In 2006, joecookie teamed up with Monihan Monihan to form Bricolagista Inc. Bricolagista did several commercial projects with RedBull, Grace Culture Marketing and Scion as well as art projects (for example, The Granite with LivingRoom Johnston) and music videos for Jean Grae (Blacksmith/Warner Brothers) and Mr. Dead (RAPTIVISM Records).

In 2008 joecookie took over video production for Scion Broadband, producing artist interviews, highlight reels, and a travel show for scion.com/broadband.
