I’m JoeCookie.

I got started working in video when I was 15, around the time that the X-Games blew up. I went to school at the Art Institute in New England, moved to California, worked at 411VM (the premier video magazine for Skateboarding and BMX). Getting started in action sports taught me how to handle all aspects of a production by myself when needed.

In 2004 I moved back to Boston to join XY tv, a network launched by American radio personality John Garabiedien. XY aired 100% original content 5 days a week. At XY I worked as an editor on a “Real Worldesque” show cutting two 30 minute episodes per week. XY gave me the opportunity to focus on post-production (Avid) and learn organizational skills that proved very valuable as my career progressed.

Joining XY also allowed me the freedom to freelance with clients such as MTV, Transitions Productions, Fuel TV, Red Bull Mexico and Red Bull USA. In 2005 I was given the opportunity to produce Red Bull’s “No Problemo”a film focusing on Red Bull’s BMX team as they traveled from Mexico city to Monterrey to compete in a contest held in a sewer. No Problemo is still one of the most widely distributed BMX DVDs of all time.

In 2006 I partnered a production company called Bricolagista and continued to work on commercial projects as well as some art projects, music videos and a feature film.

In 2008 I took on production for Scion’s Broadband channel. I assembled crews and produced artist interviews, event highlights and an international travel show that filmed in Tokyo, London, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen and all over the U.S.

In 2010 I became an official production partner for Red Bull Media House and worked on numerous web-clips, web-series and TV shows including “Travis Pastrana vs Mt Washington and several projects with Boston Celtics point guard, Rajon Rondo.
