Joe Talcott’s marketing experience stretches nearly three decades, including seven years at News Corporation in Australia, most recently as Chief Creative for NewsLab, a creative division of News Limited. He has worked for 17 years with McDonald’s in markets across the world. Today he heads CREATISM.IS, specialising in training and championing the power of Kinetic Ideas.
Joe began his career as a copywriter. He worked for advertising agencies (Media 70, D'Arcy-MacManus & Masius, Carmichael Lynch, Fahlgren Advertising) in the USA. He joined McDonald's in 1982 as a marketing manager, thereafter holding several positions including director of marketing in Latin America, Asia/Pacific and Australia. In 2003 he moved to the company's headquarters in Chicago to work on the launch of the “i’m lovin’ it” campaign as global marketing & creative director. Mr. Talcott has worked for marketers, agencies and media companies in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Mr. Talcott served as Chairman of the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) from 2009-12 and was past President of the Newspaper Publishers Association (NPA). He was a founding Board member of The Newspaper Works. He currently serves on the Board of R U OK? Day. He is a sought-after public speaker, blogger and creative thinker.
