I inherited an obsession with the moving image from my cinephile father. Over the past decade I’ve developed extensive technical knowledge of the industry by working in an array of sub-sectors, including documentary, commercial and fashion, reality television, feature films, corporate films and music videos.
Most recently I had the honor of working as a camera operator on this year’s Oscar winning documentary feature 20 Feet From Stardom. My cinematography on Booker’s Place: A Mississippi Story, screened at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival and received rave reviews from The New York Times and Variety Magazine. I’ve also shot for the acclaimed HBO documentary series The Black List and an award-winning music video for MTVU as well as videos for Betty Who, Megan Hilty, Nicole Atkins and Semi-Precious Weapons. Commercial work for IBM, UPS, Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo, Nikon, Puma, Aleve, NASCAR, Nordstrom, iShares, Nickelodeon, Yale University, Citizens Bank, Comcast, Prudential, XXL Magazine, SCJohnson, Microsoft and the NCAA are also part of my résumé.
I was born and raised in New York City and now live in Brooklyn with my wife and daughter. When I’m not off on a shoot I frequently can be found tinkering with my cameras and bicycles, or climbing rocks .
Oh yeah, and I also own a Movi M10 with my friends Graham and Yoshi.
