Joe Medina
I was born in Bogota, Colombia and raised in Houston, Texas. I've been working in the film business in various capacities since 1998 and now work as an in-house producer/writer/director for Houston based G Films. I've mainly produced music videos in the past, but have expanded into other areas of film production in the last couple of years, such as industrials, commercials, short films and webisodes.
In the past ten years, I've developed or doctored scripts for other indie productions in various genres, including Spanish language exploitation and Urban Comedy. Venturing in narrative filmmaking, I independently shot, directed and edited the first three episodes of a web series in the fall and winter of 2009/2010 produced through an indie production company based in L.A.
In the Fall of 2009, Through G Films, I wrote, co-produced and directed a short film "Sin Embargo", a mostly Spanish language project written years earlier. That film is currently in post production. I also began production on a Spanish language web series in early 2010 called 'Lola - La Serie', which I helped develop and is now currently write, co-produce and direct. The project is currently in post production for Episodes 1-5 and is looking at possible launch in the Fall of 2011.
