John Lavall

Devlo Media is a video production company located in Providence, Rhode Island started by director / producer John Lavall. His work has been broadcast nationally on PBS and his documentary films have shown in festivals throughout the country. Devlo Media produces commercials, public service announcements, and documentary films that have garnered several national awards, including 7 Telly Awards, 10 Emmy® Nominations and 4 Emmy® Awards. Recently completed projects include Le Wi Tok (Let Us Talk) lehwitohk.org the story of a Sierra Leone community’s transformation through radio, from war and poverty to peace and prosperity.; Big World, Small World, a short film about a community-based secretarial school in Ghana, West Africa, and Home Across Lands homeacrosslands.org, a documentary that explores how a small group of resettled Kunama refugees find support and reestablish their sense of community in a small New England state.
