My name is Julie Prim Daquelente and I grew up in Dallas, TX and moved to Raleigh, NC in 2007 where I currently live. I am a business owner, a psychology student, and an Independent Team Beachbody Coach.
I made the decision to move from my hometown for several reasons. The main reason, however, is that I was going to school and working, but felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. When I turned 25, I decided it was time to get out of my comfort zone - that was the only way I was going to find the life I was meant to live. So I put my belongings in storage and made the drive (along with my dog Tucker) up to Raleigh, NC. Since moving to North Carolina, I have met the love of my life, brand new husband and partner in crime!
I have now lived in NC for five years. I made a degree switch from Government and Politics to Psychology, I have started my own business (AFairyTaleExperience.com), and have now become an Independent Beachbody Coach.
My Beachbody Story
I stumbled upon Beachbody several years ago. I love a good infomercial! At that time, Turbo Jam with Chalene Johnson was out and it looked like a good workout, and more importantly, a LOT of fun! So the infomercial did its job, and I ordered Turbo Jam. Best purchase I have ever made! I had never looked forward to working out before, but all of a sudden I couldn't get the addicting music out of my head and looked forward to turning on the DVDs. This was definitely a first for me! Not only that, but I loved the style Chalene had - she was sweet, and encouraging, and pretty darn funny! I was hooked!
Since my first encounter with Turbo Jam, I have tried other workouts of Chalene's and have not been disappointed. TurboFire and ChaLean Extreme are both a couple of butt kickers, but I love them just the same! Chalene really has a way of making you want to put in the work to succeed!
I have been working out with Beachbody products for the past six years off and on. Two years ago I gained 60 pounds due to a medical issue I did not know I had. I would eat right and exercise regularly, but wouldn't lose a pound which was incredibly discouraging. And if I didn't eat right and exercise like crazy, the scale would just continue to climb. Finally, a doctor was able to pinpoint what was going on and it turns out that part of the medical issue I had messed with my insulin. So now I was fighting an uphill battle. It would take weeks to lose a single pound! So, it was either stay miserable and heavy or bust my butt for every pound I wanted gone.
Two years later, I'm still working on it. I have lost 35 pounds and have another 25-30 to go! Getting fit and healthy is not an easy road. It takes hard work and commitment, but it is totally worth it not only for your health, but for the way it makes you feel both physically and mentally!
I would love to be able to show you full body before photos and the progress I have made, but when you're overweight, the last thing you want is your picture taken. And at that time I couldn't even begin to see where my life would be now. Fitness is a lifelong journey! I would love to join your on your journey and together we can become the best "us" we can possibly be!
