Kai de Mello-Folsom
Kai de Mello-Folsom is an independent artist of many mediums. Currently pursuing a double-major B.F.A. at Chapman University in Orange, California for Film Production and Theatre Performance, Kai has worked independently and professionally on a variety of film, theatre, dance and music productions throughout the US (and beyond!).
As an award-winning performer (recently named "Best Musical Actor" 2008 in the statewide New Hampshire Theatre Awards), Kai’s experiences have taken him on tour to the Capitol Center for the Arts, NH, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and abroad to South Africa, Lithuania and New Zealand. Throughout all of his journeys, Kai maintains it’s been the human connection that has been the most rewarding. A past member of dozens of community and professional arts organizations and venues across New England, Kai has had the opportunity to work with hundreds of interesting people, including Broadway-Great Carol Channing in her tour, Carol Channing Live!
With a broad film focus in production, directing and photography, Kai has been the proud recipient of various awards, such as the NH Association of Broadcasters
Scholarship, First Place in the Northeast Regional ACM (Student Category) for his short documentary film “NAMI NH,” and finally a top finalist in Fox Network’s National Storyteller Competition for his original television pilot “Reel to Real.”
