I’m a visual journalist based out of New York, specializing in still photography and audio and video production. My personal work focuses on women and their role within their own communities; my most recent film follows 18-year-old Maheshwari, the first person in her family to graduate high school. My professional passion is helping not-for-profit organizations tell their stories through visual media.
I’ve traveled the world telling stories, from reporting on a small cloister of nuns in Peru for Sister Cities International to documenting mother-daughter relationships in an indigenous Mayan region of Guatemala for Starfish One by One. I’ve produced editorial work for The Wall Street Journal, NBC and ELLE.com, and am the official photographer for She’s the First, a nonprofit that supports girls’ education worldwide. My work with She’s the First has shown me how strongly storytelling can affect an organization’s message. Through social media, our blog and our YouTube channel, we share the stories of young women whose lives have changed because of education.
