Katie Collett is the weekend anchor and a dayside reporter at WAVY/WVBT in Portsmouth, Virginia. She's been with the station On Your Side for more than 4 years.

Prior to WAVY/WVBT, Katie was the morning anchor at WJAC-TV in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She field anchored during severe weather events as well as station-sponsored events in the community.
She also forced a bridal store, Kaufmann's Wedding World, to close all of it's stores across the country after her investigation uncovered the owner and employees stole money from brides and never gave them their dresses.
Before her move to the desk, Katie was a one man band at WJAC's Altoona Bureau. She developed new sources and stories daily.
Katie's first job "in the business" was on Capitol Hill with COX Broadcasting's DC Bureau. She was a full-time freelance producer.
While on the Hill, Katie covered the war in Iraq, the release of the 9/11 report, and stories of interest for the 15 COX owned stations.
She is a news and sports fanatic and she truly loves what she does. She can't imagine any other career she is better suited for than broadcast journalism.
