I started life as a news producer working for the BBC. Over the years this took me around the world covering stories from Aberdeen to Timbuktu. Eventually I settled in the sandy dunes of Qatar as a producer for Aljazeera English News. Late one starry night in the middle of the desert I realised that although I loved journalism my passion was in filmmaking. I decided to break free of the constraints of the newsroom and head to New York. I now make social documentaries and short non-fiction films and luckily people have even given me some awards for some of them. Life truly is stranger than fiction.
