The Kentucky Blood Center is a non-profit community blood center that recruits volunteer blood donors in more than 60 counties and processes and distributes blood products to nearly 70 hospitals and clinics in Kentucky.
KBC, founded in 1968 by the Lexington Medical Society, is headquartered in Lexington where it operates the Beaumont and Andover donor centers. Somerset and Pikeville also are homes to blood donor centers.
