I joined the RSC in Feburary 2007, in readiness for the new round of JISC funding to commence from August 2007 to 2010.
My recent lecturing background was working as a FE lecturer and adult trainer in multimedia (AVCE level) at a land based college in Gloucestershire. Whilst lecturing at FE level I gained my PG-CERT as well as an MSc in multimedia. I became interested in e-learning during this post, whilst working on a Q-project. My MSC which incorporated CAL theory also gave me strong grounding in elearning principles and pedagogies.
This interest in e-learning and multimedia lead me into the role as e-learning development officer at Harper Adams University College in Shropshire. During my time here I helped in the successful bid which gained the college a CETL status. I helped instigate a college wide plagiarism detection policy using a VLE and Turnitin. I also managed the team which implemented a new MLE using Moodle linked to SITS registry system.
I was involved with shaping policy and delivering e-learning projects in the following areas; video conferencing, web casting, CAA, streaming video, MP3 e-learning objects, course design, e-learning project management, accessibility design, and work based distance learners.
My experience and enthusiasm for the adoption of e-learning in both FE and HE sectors will compliment the existing RSC team in supporting all West Midlands learning providers.
