Accidentally born in 1980, Alireza Khatami worked in the film industry in Iran before (im)migrating to Malaysia, where he studied Creative Multimedia and worked as a Visual Effects supervisor. In 2010 his contingent journey took him to the United States where he studied Film & TV Production and received a Master(!) of Fine Arts. His diasporic struggles have produced short films, stories, scripts and installations. Alireza has been lucky enough to have his works awarded and showcased in several countries.
Currently he is teaching(!) at Lebanese American University in Beirut. He is developing his feature film project “Oblivion Verses”. The project was selected for Cinefondation Residency of Cannes Film Festival as well as Script Station at the 62nd Berlinale.
