I've been "immersed" in video since 2008 working as a videographer on a liveabord dive boat. I am proud of the progress that I have made, but of course the more I learn, the more I realize I have a long way to go before I know much of anything of about video. But I believe wholeheartedly that with experience, training, and persistance, one day I might actually be good . . . at video I mean. I'm already good at diving.
My big news as 2012 draws to a close is that I am retiring my Sony HC3s and my Sea & Sea VX-S1 housings. I'm really excited to be starting 2013 with a new Sony CX760v and a new Gates housing. I'll continue using my very excellent Keldan Luna 8-CRI lights. Check back in 2013 and you might see some videos with better focus and exposure control as afforded with the Gates housing. The Sea & Sea was a very basic housing and gave no access to any manual controls.
In my other life I am a CPA. I used to have a Real Job doing CPA things, but I quit that a few years ago and started taking on consulting projects when I am home. My preferred engagements run 3-5 months. That is perfect because my husband and I are in Micronesia for about 6 months each year.
Dive well. Follow your dreams.
