Lane Russell is a senior film student at Brigham Young University. He began making films at the age of nine, when he and a friend found an old camcorder that recorded straight to VHS. He quickly developed a passion for filmmaking and photography, which has continued to this day. When he entered high school, he studied photography extensively, but there was no video production class available. Instead of backing down, he got permission to start a video production class, taught himself how to edit and began to teach other students as well.
After high school, he was accepted into the film program at BYU, and is currently in his senior year. He has directed, produced, filmed, and edited countless films and commercials, many of which have been accepted into film festivals. He has recently won film festival awards for best documentary and best commercial.
