Laura is a photojournalist and producer working as the multimedia manager at Bread for the World (bread.org), where she oversees the organization’s multimedia storytelling on hunger and poverty issues around the world. She also teaches multimedia in American University‘s Interactive Journalism Master’s program.
She started her career as an editorial assistant at USA Weekend magazine and as a business reporter for Dow Jones Newswires in Seoul and New York. She earned her B.A. from American University and her M.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Laura spent one year in Seoul on a Fulbright fellowship, which she used to document the lives of North Korean defectors adjusting to life in South Korea.
Laura speaks Korean and Spanish.
