I produce under the name Lazy Beatz, but I also collaborate in two groups, one being Persona and the other 59 Minute Productions. I’m currently working on a mixtape for the duo TNT, who you should be hearing from soon.

I come from a classical background, I started playing classical piano when I was 5 and just never stopped from there. I have to thank my pops for that, he never let a brother stop practicing haha I swear in a past life he was a drill sergeant. But anyways, as the years past I started to enjoy myself a little too much.. so in 2000 when my father got a job in the U.S., he brought me along with him. Later on, he told me I would have flunked out of school otherwise.. Which was probably true. High school was so much fun at Aquinas haha

The states is where I realized school was a piece of cake.. All you had to do was your homework and you slid right through it. Either that, or the education there was sub-par lol Just kidding. It was far from that, the school I attended had everything for the performing arts.. from clay shaping, to dancing studios to graphic design etc.. My old school never had nothing like that… It was here at Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, in Kansas City, Missouri, that I took my very first musical composition class.

Three years after I graduated Paseo, I attended Trebas Institute in Toronto, Canada. Here I learned the difference between a beat maker and a producer. Since then I’ve been hard at work.

At the start of 2011, with inspiration and help from my brother FJC (the other half of Persona) I started to DJ/MIX. I never thought I’d dabble in the DJ world, but when you stop and think about it, DJing is a great way to promote your music.

So this transition couldn’t have come at a better time.

Plus, there’s nothing like the feeling you get during a good MASH-UP!
