Chris Pinches
Chris has a lifetime passion for the cinema and a hobby of taking film related evening classes and workshops turned in time to actually making films and finally turning semi-professional 2004.
In 2002 he joined the fledgling Call the Shots film making group and was Chair for five years during which time around 20 short films were produced.
In all Chris has been involved in the production of over 30 short films, taking virtually every role within the crew at some point or other but increasingly focusing on cameraman and Director of Photography roles, often also acting as Producer to ensure the shoot was properly organised.
He has also invested heavily in his own camera, lighting and grip equipment.
In 2006 he formed Leofric Films to shoot a low budget gangster movie named “Bootleggers”, though this project ultimately failed. The company survived though, turning its hand to corporate and commercial video production. He is still a director of the company and remains the principal cameraman.
In 2007 he formed Entanglement Productions with regular collaborator Huw Bowen to shoot a low budget sci-fi movie titled “Schrödinger’s Girl”. Principal photography took place in March 2008 – Chris was Director of Photography – and the next nine months were spent adding the 300+ special effects. The company has now acquired a sales agent for the film (now renamed “Triple Hit”) in LA and he is confident it will return a profit in time.
He has also found the time to write further scripts for the Entanglement slate and is looking forward to directing their next feature in 2010.
