Neil Spencer Bruce is a guitarist, composer, sound designer and more recently film-maker. Throughout his varied career Neil has bridged the gap between creativity and technology, to the point where he is in demand for his skills and ability to make things happen.
Neil specialises in Sound Design and Composition for Film, Computer Games and Television, through his media production company Syncrosound.
Neil writes and produces his unique brand of “ambient cinematic electronica” music under the name of Light B4 Sound..
As a Guitarist, Neil has played and gigged in numerous bands around the world and is available for session, tuition and gigging work. Neil is currently performing with Manchester’s Top Party Band GrooveThing.
As a Recording Engineer, Neil worked at the world famous Manor Mobile studios on a number of projects, including Dr Alban,Al Green, Barbara Cooke Robert Plant and Jimmy Page. In addition, he has worked to working on numerous recording projects for other artists.
More recently, Neil has been involved in film production, directing, editing and creating film content for the University of Salford, as well as short films. He also gives lectures on Film Sound, Production and Motion Graphics
Neil has numerous qualifications, including an MSc in Multimedia Signal Processing, Dip (Mus) in Music , B.Eng (Hons) in Electroacoustics and Diploma in Media Composition, as well as studying Orchestration through a Steve Vai Scholarship at Berklee College on-line. Neil was recently involved as a researcher on the Positive Soundscape Project at the University of Salford, and is currently writing his PhD thesis on, “the effects of expectation on the perception of soundscapes”He is also on the board of the UK and Ireland Soundscape committee (UKISC)
Neil has also worked in the IT and Digital Marketing fields, with some of the largest companies and corporations in the world, as a developer, project manager and content producer.
