LILITH PERFORMANCE STUDIO

Lilith Performance Studio is an independent arena for practical artistic research, focusing on visual art performance. The studio creates large-scale performances by inviting visual artists from around the world, some of whom have never worked “live” before. Each year, 6-8 artists are given the unique opportunity to present and develop a new performance on site during a longer period of time and in close collaboration with the studio. Those invited have a particularly individual artistic mode of expression and integrity when it comes to idea as well as method. They also share an interest in exploring their work in relation to the studio as an experimental site. During the production period the artist is given the possibility to focus on all the parts of a live piece: place, time, staging, participants and audience.
Lilith Performance Studio opened in 2007 and has during its first three years developed 22 solo productions, several curatorial collaborations, guest appearances and festivals. As a production space and an arena for visual art performance, the studio is the first of its kind in the world.

The studio is run by the artistic directors Elin Lundgren and Petter Pettersson, and the producer Jonna Ölund.

Lilith Performance Studio är en oberoende arena för praktisk konstnärlig forskning med fokus på bildkonstperformance. Studion skapar nya storskaliga performanceverk genom att bjuda in bildkonstnärer från hela världen. Vissa har aldrig arbetat ”live” tidigare. Varje år får 6-8 konstnärer ett unikt tillfälle att på plats, under en längre tid och i nära samarbete med studion, utveckla och presentera ett nytt performanceverk. De som bjuds in har ett utpräglat individuellt konstnärligt språk och integritet vad gäller idé såväl som metod, samt ett intresse av att utforska det egna arbetet i relation till studion som experimentplats. Under produktionsperioden får konstnären möjlighet att arbeta fokuserat med alla delar av ett liveverk: plats, tid, iscensättning, medverkande personer och publik.
Lilith Performance Studio öppnade 2007 och har under sina första tre år skapat 22 soloproduktioner samt flera curatoriska samarbeten, gästspel och festivaler. Som renodlad produktionsplats och arena för bildkonstperformance är studion den första i sitt slag i världen.

Studion drivs av de konstnärliga ledarna Elin Lundgren och Petter Pettersson samt producenten Jonna Ölund.
