Lindy grew up in the tobacco country of Southern Ontario. At young age she was gifted an acoustic guitar and began composing. Several songs later… she traveled to India where she learned the intricacies of Indian Classical Music. Upon her return she studied Jazz and eventually landed in East Vancouver’s folk/cabaret music scene.
Her music draws on Eastern Roma elements with a smattering of old-world jazz, folk/traditional, and western swing. Her mesmerizing melodies paired with acoustic guitar and the singing saw sweep you into a melodic frenzy as she takes you back to that old familiar place with modern style. Audiences are reeled into a cunning, tragic, and mysterious plot from one song to the next as Lindy encompasses a truly unique and imaginative style of songwriting. Her local supporters refrer to her as “The Murder Ballad Queen.”
