Lisa Iglesias was born and raised in Queens, New York, received her BA from Binghamton University in 2001 and later attended the University of Florida in the Painting and Drawing Department for her Master's of Fine Arts in 2006. Since receiving her Master's, she has been an artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center, the Santa Fe Art Institute, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, the Seven Below Arts Initiative, Cité Internationale des Arts and Tiny Circus, among others. Iglesias has exhibited nationally and internationally at non-profit and commercial galleries and project spaces such as the Queens Museum of Art, the Jersey City Museum and El Museo del Barrio. Lisa is a recipient of a 2009 NYFA Fellowship in Printmaking/Drawing/Book Arts and the 2009/2010 Urban Artists Initiative/New York City and works both individually as well as collaboratively with her sister, Janelle under the name Las Hermanas Iglesias.
