LORD LYTA
the Flash It Up Soundmachine is based in Antwerp (Belgium). We started there our soundsystem with an unregular dj-residence in the reggae-bar "Cool Runnings", back in july 1999. We've played several times there before moving on to bigger crowds, mostly in Belgium and in France.
Our style? (Very) globally caribbean : reggae, dancehall, jungle, hip-hop, grime, soca, rocksteady... but also baile funk, kuduro, dubstep & other mash-ups. Our specialty? Homemade remixes & blends (more than 300) available on the 20 mix-cds we've released already, all sold out & now free for download on mediafire.com/flash-it-up (tracklists for nearly all releases are listed here: facebook.com/Flash.it.Up.Soundmachine?sk=notes)
Some places where we already fired up : the Reggae Geel festival 2003, the famous Braderie de Lille (France) 2002, the Djoloff (Lille) (big up 12 Sound!), the Meeting Of Stylez Graffiti Jam 2002, Petrol alongside Killamanjaro Sound & Bass Culture (Antwerp), the 1st edition of the Mek It Burn festival, the Mo6z-benefit 2004 (Hove), the Benelux Cup Clash Final 2005 (but just for the warm-up :) ), a few parties at Scheldapen (Antwerp), several times Bar Napoleone (Antwerp), the fashion victims clothing-store Fish & Chips (Antwerp), all that alongside artists like Original Uman, Lord Bitum, Mutikafu, Robert Lee, Anthony Johnson, Ragnampiza and many more...
Currently, we're more in the studio than in the dancehall, still remixing for ourselves but also for other belgian soundsystems like Skankin Rebel Audiosystem, Majestical Sound, Heartbeat Movement or Original Red Alert Sound. We've also been busy producing remixes for european coming-up artists like King Johnny & TD Rankin (both from Belgium), Chin (from Denmark), Tungtvann (from Norway) or Richie Riott (JA/Sweden)... So if need to fix your dub pella on another riddim or if you're an artist & want us to remix your tune, just ask & I'm sure we can work something out. The only we do NOT do is splice dubs or things like removing names of ex-sound members but that put aside, even your dub on the last Bieber instrumental, YES WE CAN! :D
Finally, big up to every soundsytems, crews & djs who shared the decks with us, you're too many to mention but you know who you are!
