Louis Paxton grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland. A genre film enthusiast, Louis is committed to building a career as a writer and director of exciting and original comedy, action, horror, sci-fi and musical films. He has always been ambitious in terms of his vision.
Louis cut his teeth on several low-budget shorts, graduating with a BA from the RSAMD in 2009. His graduation film, CHOREOMANIA won two Best Undergraduate RTS Awards, and another at CMF. In 2010, Louis’ short, FOOL PROOF took the Jim Poole Audience Award.
Louis embarked on his Masters at the NFTS, developing his visual storytelling skills via collaboration and the School’s extensive facilities to produce bigger, bolder films.
Having graduated and secured representation for future fiction work, Louis is now focussed on bridging the gap between short and feature filmmaking. His recent short films have won a number of awards and continue to screen at festivals worldwide. Louis is currently developing a number of genre splicing ideas with various industry figures whilst still producing independent projects in his spare time.
