We Don't Care About Music Anyway... 東京、西暦20XX年。砂漠のようなゴミ捨て場。そこに巨大都市の姿が垣間見える。都市が目覚める。押し寄せる人ごみと騒音。鉄道が轟音をたてて通り過ぎ、パトカーはサイレンをけたたましく鳴らし、街ではスピーカーが絶え間なく注意を呼びかける。催眠術のような数多くのメッセージが、あらゆる逸脱を押さえ込もうとする。 東京、音楽番外地へようこそ。 本作は、東京で新しい音楽を生み出す８人のミュージシャンと日本の大量消費社会を結びつけ、対峙させたドキュメンタリー映画である。そして音とその知覚についての探求の映画でもある。８人のミュージシャンがたゆみなく追求し続けるものは、音楽言語にまだ成りきっていない未開の音、本能的な音である。それは都市の音そのもので、滅菌され、フォーマット化された、東京の日常に遍在する音である。都市の生み出す騒音や雑音が、ノイズミュージックと混じり合って轟音のうねりを巻き起こし、爆音の極点へと達する時、視覚と聴覚を極限まで研ぎすませた観客の眼前に、新しい東京の風景が広がる。…
