Maarten van der Meiden
Maarten van der Meiden studied composition at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Louis Andriessen. His musical pieces are characterized by a documentary style in which he masters to figure out the most subtle emotions. His use of seamless transitions between romantic and expressionist pieces is remarkable. With his 5 Preludes for Piano, he was recently awarded with the 'International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition 2011' by the National Academy of Music.
