1 month agoMachiel Standhardt commented on Character idle animationI'm using Blender 2.49b, any gpu that supports GLSL should work.
I believe approximately 1,5 years ago realtime shadows were added to Blender outside of the BGE.
To use them you need to turn on Blender GLSL materials in the 'game' menu. In textured or shaded viewmodes you can then use spotlights with buffered shadows for shadows :)
There is even a build available with softshadows and more but it's not yet in the latest official Blender release. -
