Mandy Morrison

A multidisciplinary artist, Morrison moves freely between video, performance, installation, and photography. Many of her ideas are generated from notions of space in the physical and social sense, particularly as related to performance and how the body projects itself in the world. She has generated site-specific video installations and performances as well as a documentary film. Her work has been exhibited internationally in galleries, museums, festivals and public spaces including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Kunstlerhaus Hamburg, CINESONIKA, and the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival. She has been Visiting Artist faculty at Pratt Institute, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, The University of Minnesota, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, among others. Additionally she has been the recipient of numerous grants and honors, including fellowships and residencies from the Illinois Arts Council, the University of Wisconsin, the Wexner Center and the Council on the Arts and Humanities on Staten Island. Various recent projects have involved utopian architecture, rural youth and urban break dance artists.
