My name is Paul Schaefer. I am an award winning television journalist with two Emmys and one Edward R Murrow award for excellence in television journalism (Cincinnati, WCPO TV 1996). My interest is in the re-emergence of ancient natural systems of medicine and the experiences of refined states of perception available through the regular practice of meditative techniques.

Ayurveda, and specifically Maharishi Ayurveda, is a health science that embodies knowledge of both aspects of life, inner and outer. It was re-enlivened in the 1980's, from near extinction, by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of Transcendental Meditation.

Ayurveda is a 5000 year old comprehensive system of natural health care that utilizes herbs, treatments, diet, lifestyle modifications, meditation, aromas, architecture and other modalities to support health. Ayurvedia is a system of natural medicine that supports both health and quantum jumps in clarity and appreciation for life -- also referred to as higher states of consciousness.

These short documentary subjects are made to introduce the wild-crafted herbs, modalities, treatments, benefits and distinctions of the world's oldest system of natural medicine.

As an observer and unapologetic fan of the emerging 'green' revolution, it is worth pointing out that these mega-trends are a resurgence of notions first discussed and revered by the Vedic culture of India, many centuries ago. In Sanskrit, the adage of the sages proclaimed "The world is my family".

That notion is now thriving and flourishing in the modern context, which expresses the ancient notion: Green your world, green yourself.
