“At the time Marcel was still in the streets as a press photographer you could already see his rembrandtesque eye for colours and shades. Never saw anybody come closer to the perfect image of tormented Dutch politicians or the Corleone's of the Lowlands - and everything in between. Then he made his shift to commercial assignments. As a result he came up with thoroughly directed pieces of art, showing his sharp eye for the astonishing detail. Men are bound to get stuck-up and presumptuous, being honoured with so much ingenuity. Not Marcel however, who still is the humble and considerate man he was ten years ago. So send him out in the streets and let his camera do the talking. Of humbleness and consideration there will be not left a single bit.”
