MARC STEPHAN

studierte visuelle Kommunikation und experimentelle Filmgestaltung an der Hochschule der Künste Berlin. Er arbeitete u. a. für Inszenierungen von Sebastian Baumgarten, Stephan Pucher und Meg Stuart. 2005 und 2011 gewannen die Inszenierungen “Dead Cat Bounce” und “Money: It came from outer space” (Regie: Chris Kondek), an denen Marc Stephan als Videodesigner und Darsteller beteiligt war, den Preis der Jury des Festivals “Politik im Freien Theater”. 2005 war er mit “Homo Faber” (Regie: Stefan Pucher) zum Berliner Theatertreffen eingeladen. Aktuell zeichnet er für das Video in der Inszenierung "The Civil Wars" von Milo Rau / IIPM verantwortlich. Vorpremiere auf dem Kunstenfestivaldesarts 2014.

born in Essen, Germany, moved to (East-) Berlin, right after the wall came down.
He studied Philosophie for a year and moved on to study Visuelle Kommunikation at Hochschule / Universität der Künste. Udk/HdK, Berlin .
Graduated as Diplom Designer in 1995 and Meisterschüler Experimentelle Filmgestaltung in 1996 at Professor Heinz Emigholz.

There were exhibitions of my work – mostly video installations – since 1992 in a couple of places in Europe.
In 1995 I started to create flyer for Berlin Underground Clubs and 1998 he started to produce movie trailer.
Since 1999 I design videos for theater and dance pieces. I have worked or collaborated as video designer and performer with:
Chris Kondek, Milo Rau / International Institiute of Political Murder (IIPM), Milo Rau, Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods, Sebastian Baumgarten, Stefan Pucher, Anna Konjetzky, Christian Marten-Molnar, Julie Bougard, Robert Lehninger, Katka Schroth, Florian Fiedler, Constanza Macras (music).
Invited to Theatertreffen 05 with Pucher/Homo Faber; in 2005 and 2011 Prize of the Festivals “Politik im Freien Theater” with "Dead Cat Bounce" (Kondek) and "Money, It Came From Outer Space" (Kuehl/Kondek). Works currently with Milo Rau / IIPM.
