Marie-Christine Depestre's love for music started in utero. It served as a reflection and a reminder of her Haitian heritage and remained a constant staple in her family throughout her childhood, which is why, it’s no wonder she became the caliber of artist she is today.

Fourteen years of classical piano training from the age of 5, was more than enough to deepen the passion and solidify the connection she felt to music. As a budding pianist she secretly pondered becoming a singer and spent most of her early teens singing in school plays, at family gatherings and for the community of Laval (suburb of Montreal) and Montreal.

At the age of 19 she joined the Gregory Charles’s" Laval Gospel Choir" and quickly found herself at the forefront as a soloist, as a result of that, offers for hire at corporate events started pouring in....Marie Christine was on her way. By age 20 she had landed her first musical review, "GENERATION MOTOWN" which lasted for nearly 5 years. It garnered her the respect of her piers and opened up a whole new world of music. The success of Motown Generation gave her the leverage she needed to launch her career and quickly turned the attention of Quebec's music scene her way, one artist in particular took notice and the following year, at age 21, Marie Christine was touring Europe with the well known "Garou". The years to follow brought a whirlwind of opportunities and shared musical experiences with some of Quebec’s finest, Daniel Bélanger, DJ Champion and Ginette Reno to name a few.

In 2006 she gained entrance to the world of television as a singer in a house band for a variety show, “On n’a pas tout la soirée”, at TVA and a music show, “M pour Musique” (2008), at RADIO-CANADA which planted the seed for the next phase of her career: recording. As if on cue the following year she was signed to Siena Records/Warner under the direction of Corey Hart who also produced her soon to be released debut album,(WALK IN BEAUTY). It is an amalgamation of soul and r&b. The album is due to be released in 2010, until then Marie Christine Depestre continues to hone her craft on and off the stage.
