“How about ‘Martin Singers’?” No, that won’t work. It’s already taken. I can imagine Elaine, Eric, Janine and Francine congregating around the living room as they tried to arrive at a name that would personify the group. There is lots of laughter and it is inevitable that they took time to reminiscence about their childhood, with these siblings being as close today, as they were in the days that they used to play church. Back then, Eric was the preacher and Elaine was the pianist. Janine and Francine made up the choir, usher board and the congregation, imitating all the church folks - complete with the church mothers and testimony service. At the end of the day, the group settled on Martin’s “Favor”, derived from Mama Roxanne’s prayer. Years later, much has changed, but even more remains the same. This jovial, close-knit family has made their way into the hearts of many with music that comforts the soul.

There is no romantic story behind how Martin’s Favor began. Truth be told, their father made them sing, so they really didn’t have a choice. Fortunate for us, he was the driving force that recognized their talent and envisioned the ministry. The musically inclined family nurtured their talent from a young age, positioning Martin’s Favor to be theinspiration they are today.

This contemporary group has strong family ties and an inherent passion for relationships. Martin’s Favor wants to share the gifts that God has given them with their fans –present and future.
Martin’s Favor’s first project, Need to Hear, shared their message of overcoming life’s adversities. The sophomore offering, A Place, invited listeners into a peaceful realm. The group is currently working on their third album, which will include the new hit single, Can We Get Together.
Largely influenced by The Winans, The Hawkins, Joe Sample, Billy Preston, and Israel New Breed. Martin’s Favor has a unique sound that sets them apart from other gospel artist. They continue to produce songs that provide words of comfort, encouragement and confirmation through lyrics influenced by the word of God.

The group has collaborated with Tramaine Hawkins, Chante Moore, Gerald Albright and Lesa Terry, as well as shared the stage with Mary J. Blige, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams, Marvin Winans, and Andrae Crouch.
