Martin Zaharinov is the Founder and President of IS Films Inc. a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting independent student filmmakers. Martin founded IS Films, or Independent Student Films, when he was only a Freshman at Emerson College in January of 2008. Currently heading into his Junior year as a Directing Narrative Fiction major he is also minoring in Business Studies and Leadership & Management. Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, he moved to the States at the age of 14 and attended High School in Mansfield, Massachusetts where he first became involved in non-profit ventures and community outreach through the Invisible Children organization. Even before founding IS FIlms Inc., Martin made his mark at Emerson by getting involved in dozens of productions. Early on he served primarily as a Producer and Assistant Director, but he soon realized the need for support and financing for student work in the Visual and Media Arts community. Thus Martin founded IS Films Inc. in the hopes that the company would fill the educational and financial gaps in the current student film world. Now with the success of IS Films Inc. Martin has become the most sought after Executive Producer at Emerson College and is well on his way to an extremely successful career producing and directing films.
Currently Martin is Executive Producing IS Film's next project, 'Hands of the Nocturnal Clock', an Emerson B.F.A. film that was filmed in Boston and Maine this Summer.
