Welcome to MaSamba Samba School, the home of samba music in Dublin.

MaSamba was set up in 1994, by people passionate about Brasilian culture. We have worked hard to become the best samba group in Ireland, and have received huge acclaim and support from audiences and musicians in Ireland, throughout Europe, and even in Brasil.

We are based in the historic Liberties area of Dublin, and have a membership from throughout the city. We have members from several different nationalities and a variety of cultural and artistic backgrounds, with many that are experienced performers and musicians

Initially rehearsing on the quays of the river Liffey, the band were often in direct competition with the 7 O’clock mass being held in the Quay Church - hence the name, which also means ‘more Samba’ - something the Priest didn’t seem to agree with!

We rehearse together on a weekly basis in our studio in the Liberties area (directions to the rehearsal space can be located on our website at masamba.com).
