Material Sense (2002) is an independent organisation for material innovation. Material Sense researches, develops and experiments with the materiality of products and environment. They make the world of materials visible and tangible through among others travelling exhibitions, lectures, workshops and developed methods and tools to experience the value of materials.
Material Sense functions as a catalyst within the connection with designers, scientists, educational institutes and innovative companies. For clients as well as institutes, Material Sense advices in the search for new materials and technologies with a focus on sensorial qualities for the development of products with the most optimal experience within a sustainable society.
Material Sense was initiated by designer Simone de Waart. She also lectures at Technical University Eindhoven and works as guest lecturer at Design Academy Eindhoven and internationally at various institutions in Asia, Europe and South America.
