Matthu Placek arrived in New York City in 1997 to study at the School of Visual Arts.

Matthu focuses his interests in the performing and fine arts while working with such publications as The New York Times, The New Yorker, Visionaire, V Magazine, & Vogue. Among others, he has photographed and/or collaborated with Marina Abramovic, Vanessa Beecroft, Brice Marden, Cindy Sherman, Marc Jacobs and James Ivory.
