Max Hattler is a moving image artist interested in the space between abstraction and figuration, where storytelling is freed from the constraints of traditional narrative. He works across the fields of film, video installation and live audiovisual performance, and has collaborated with music acts including Basement Jaxx, My Panda Can Fly, Diplo, Pixelord, Jemapur, The Egg, Jovanotti, Ladyscraper, and his dad's outfit Hattler. Max has shown his award-winning works at hundreds of festivals worldwide, including the European Media Art Festival, onedotzero, Cannes Lions, Rotterdam, Edinburgh, Annecy, and Image Forum Festival Japan. He has performed live worldwide, including Schaustelle / Pinakothek der Moderne (Munich), Institute of Contemporary Arts (London), Animae Caribe (Trinidad), Cimatics Festival (Brussels), Animation Show (California), SuperDeluxe (Tokyo) and the Museum of Image and Sound (Sao Paulo). Max holds an MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art and is currently a Doctorate in Fine Art candidate at University of East London.
