Max used to skip his high school classes in San Francisco to go to the movies, hiding under the seats to see three showings of the same film. Since then, his passion hasn’t wavered. He’s written and directed a feature as well as dozens of shorts, which have won him a Northern California Emmy and been officially selected at numerous festivals including the Mill Valley, Los Angeles, and Chicago International Film Festivals. Currently, Max holds a resident teaching position at the NEA-funded Film Workshop of SF Art & Film, where he mentors students, emphasizing collaboration and perseverance. In the fall, Max will study Directing at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles.
