Michael Hobdell has been working in film and theatre since 2009, during which he’s had two of his short films screened at the BFI IMAX London and has worked as cinematographer on multiple award winning short films.
Following his life long passion, Michael studied photography at Central St. Martin’s, trained as a director at City Academy and cinematographer at Raindance. He was also mentored by Writer/Director Paul McNeilly for two years, during that period they collaborated on well over a dozen projects.
In the summer of 2012, Michael flew to Alicante, Spain to film ‘Curse of the Dead’ produced by European Kids Association and StageKidz.
Michael’s recent film credits include: The Ritual; In the Fade; The White Witch; Connections, Bells of Casterbridge; Curse of the Dead; All That Could Have Been (Animation); Arthur Schemmings (Web Series); Orphans In Need (Commercial); I Ain’t Rich Yet (Music Video).
Michael showcased ‘Chugger’ at Sadler’s Wells Theatre; ‘Eddy No Hands’ at The Pleasance Theatre; ‘Walk Like a Black Man’ at Theatro Technis; ‘Cherry Picnic at the Winterflood Theatre.
Michael is fluent in both English and Hebrew and has a full UK driving licence.
