Cisco On-Stage Holographic TelePresence Experience

The Cisco TelePresence On-Stage Experience was an ambitious collaboration between Cisco and Musion Systems, which took place during the opening of Cisco’s Globalization Centre East in Bangalore, India.
Musion seamlessly integrated their 3D holographic display technology with Cisco’s TelePresence’s system to create the world’s first real time virtual presentation.

Cisco CEO John Chambers, who was live on the Bangalore stage, ‘beamed up’ Martin De Beer, the Senior Vice President of emerging Technologies, and Chuck Stucki the General Manager of TelePresence, live from San Jose, California. Chambers was then able to have a ‘face to face’ discussion with De Beer and Stucki on the future of Cisco TelePresence, demonstrating first hand the potential capabilities of the system in front of the watching audience.

SCOPE merges the basic characteristics of video games and real-life toys to improve existing games or create new ones. By attributing various virtual parameters commonly used in video games (power, life, magic, experience, attack, weapons, etc.) to tangible toys, it brings the toys to life. With this approach, it is possible to create all sorts of videogame concepts mixed with the real world. For example, a child's bedroom could become a natural battleground for play.

Augmented Reality Business Card - Avatar Concept

The augmented reality avatar concept for the business card provides a way to provide potential clients and associates a way to get past the logo and brand and get to know the people. You could just as easily include hobbies or little known facts for yourself or an employee.

This is an idea I'd been kicking around in my head since February. I wanted to find a way that a company could deliver a catchy identity for themselves. Avatars, be it the Mii's on the Nintendo Wii, or an Xbox Live Avatar, have become extensions of the people who use them.

Special thanks to the Papervision team for the recent rev 911 of Papervision. With it, I was able to resolve issues I had been having for several months that prevented my avatar's animations from importing properly.

-Character was modeled, unwrapped, rigged, weighted in Maya by myself. Animations (idle, wave) done by Jason Barnes.
-Texture created in Photoshop (Ambient Occlusion maps overlayed from Maya) by myself

THE CHRIS RADO IN CAR EXPERIENCE

Chris Rado's Scion tC certainly has a lot of people talking this year... Whether it's discussions about the functionality and aesthetics of the fwing, or stories about him lighting up his front wheels in 6th gear on the straight at Nashville, this machine certainly has raised some eyebrows.

It's also the most extreme and powerful front wheel drive time attack car on the planet.

Chris seems rather happy to have gobs of power under his right foot... it's said that the Scion now has 1000 bhp available on the straights.

So we thought it would be cool for you to experience two laps of Willow Springs with this overpowered car.

There don't seem to be very many moments when Chris fully opens up the throttle, but as you watch the video, you can really see just how much power is in tap...Hope you like!

FIA GT3 VIDEO BATTLE

As someone who spends most of his time working with different types of creative people, I do enjoy getting involved with young, talented artists in order to help them get their careers going. I'm in the unique position of being to help creative people from time to time and see this as an opportunity to give back to the world and pay off some karmic debts, if that makes sense.

So last month, the option came up for us to take drift film-maker Will Roegge to a FIA GT Race in Italy. I was pretty curious to see what he would do at a high end European GT race and put his name forward to be one of the shooters for our NFS Drivers Film project with Spitfire Films.

The main NFS Drivers film will focus on the GT1 class, but we decided to make this little Speedhunters Mediascape style film of the GT3 races just for fun.

It features footage from Will Roegge, Tripp from Spitfire Films on the Red Camera and a materials from yours truly.

If you liked our recent Formula D: The Story So Far film then this new video will certainly tickle your fancy.

Sorry guys, this is a bit of a long one. If you start the movie and then read my ramble it should be ready to watch.

I was fortunate enough to be invited aboard possibly the greatest adventure cruise boat in Australia if not the world. The boat for those of you who have not heard of it is the "TRUE NORTH" and it circumnavigates the Australian continent visiting some of the most remote coastline in Australia and also ventures past these waters to many unseen Pacific Island destinations.

"TRUE NORTH" is designed for pure adventure whilst providing a 5 star luxury platform for those hours not spent diving off spectacular coral atolls, catching elusive Barramundi, swimming in pristine waterholes, or taking in a cultural experience first hand.

All these things are achieved by the incredible design of the "True North" with its shallow water ability and possibly the coolest thing ever, the Bell 407 helicopter. I can only speak of my personal experience on the East Kimberley expedition, and from the moment I landed on the heli deck I was in awe of this amazing vessel.

True North cruises effortlessly through the maze of waterways of the Kimberley placing you in the most amazing locations to maximize your experience. For those locations that can only be visited by helicopter True North's skillful pilot Rob would place you precariously on the edge of an amazing waterfall for a picnic lunch like no other or take you to a waterhole full of Barra that have never seen a fisherman.

The icing on the cake for me was the crew of the True North. Without a doubt these guy's and gal's are a credit to the whole experience of adventure, luxury, comfort, and endless excitement. With 1 crew member for every 2 passengers every need was covered and nothing was left wanting.

I have never seen such an awesome place as the Kimberley and I hope you can get a small sense of what it is like to visit here from my video. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and I must thank Mark and Craig for placing their faith in me to capture some amazing footage for them. I hope it can help in spreading the word about this amazing country and this truly unique experience.

For those of you interested more in how this was shot I used the following gear.

2 x Canon 5D MK2, Canon Prime lenses 24mm, 50mm, 85mm, 400mm, Miller Tripod, Lee Filter Kit with grads, Fostex field recorder, Rode Mics, (Sorry about the audio in the fishing segment. That was straight from the camera as I wanted to catch a fish so I didn't set up proper sound.)
