Mick Bolton

Joined / UK

Joined my first band in northern England in 1970 playing pop covers. Moved to London and joined Mott The Hoople playing Hammond organ in 1973 to tour the USA promoting their album 'Mott'. Our support bands included Aerosmith, Joe Walsh's Barnstorm, Iggy Pop, The New York Dolls. Later that year we toured the UK with Queen as our support band. I left Mott The Hoople at the end of 1973. From 1984 to 1988 I recorded and toured with Dexys Midnight Runners - playing on their much-acclaimed album 'Don't Stand Me Down'. Later I played with Irish singer/songwriter Paul Brady. I also wrote and recorded with Paul McCartney's wife Linda McCartney. For the last twenty years I have worked as a solo artist around Europe and Scandinavia. And recently I have teamed up with various local musicians to play my own compositions. I also play in a band called The Rhythm Section playing Latin Funk - and some of my own songs.
