Mika Altskan
Mika Altskan is a artist currently residing in New York City. Raised in Moscow, Russia and Washington, DC, he developed his skills scaling rooftops, crawling in sewers, and exploring abandoned buildings in these two capitals.
Favorite subject - urban exploration and street art. Favorite project - Abandoned Wonder. Preferred mediums: Black and White photography, printmaking, linoleum, and stencils.
Mika is a member of Albus Cavus, a collective of artists who create public art. He has been working with Albus Cavus since 2009 and has participated in Washington, DC area community art projects MuralsDC and The Fridge Classrooms.
Mika Altskan’s photography has been recognized and awarded by The Washington Post and National Geographic, and his works have been displayed at the ArtSpacegallery, Fotoweek DC, Busboys & Poets, Tryst Coffeehouse, and the Hillyer Art Space.
