the_empath aka Mike Erkau is dealing with electronic music since 1993.
His music ranges between ambient, electronica and industrial.

The tracks are mostly soundscapes, interspersed with nettings of rhythm and mixed with experimental electronics, field recordings or ground loops. The outcome of this electronic smelter is a powerful, mind-infiltrating compound.

Though the_empath does not only experiences with sounds, but also with
motion pictures. The shows of the one-man-project from Leipzig are always
combined with a video-performance which is strictly balanced to the tracks.

In 2004 he won the ..Congress of media.. award in the category „audio“ with
his remix „no protection“ (orig. by UTR). Since 2005 he is also working as videocomposer and VJ for xabec.
