In addition to being the keyboard player for Miley Cyrus, Mike Schmid is also an award-winning singer/songwriter and classically-trained pianist with a degree in songwriting from Berklee College of Music in Boston. His self-titled debut album was unleashed upon the world in 2001, and since then no one has been able to contain their excitement.

He has also played with the Jonas Brothers, Kenna, Chantal Kreviazuk, Van Hunt, Aly & AJ, The Corrs as well as many independent singer/songwriters, such as Connie Kim, Rich Jacques and Renee Stahl.

His songs can be heard on the Felicity Season Four DVD set, The Black Donnellys Season One DVD set and the Season Three and Four DVD sets of Everwood, as well as on various television shows including ABC's "All My Children," NBC's "Friday Night Lights," Oxygen's "The Bad Girls Club" and more.

In 2006, he released a big fat epic called "The High Cost of Living (A Love Story)" and a tiny little EP called "Snow Day." His new album, "The House We Built" (which falls somewhere in between), features a new recording of "Forget You," the best-selling download of the year for 2007 on broadjam.com. It was released on August 19, 2008.

Mike was featured in the November 2008 issue of Keyboard Magazine in an article that focuses on the Miley gig, and the gear he uses.

In December 2008, CDBaby chose his new album, "The House We Built" as their Editor's Pick, featured on their front page, and featured him again in the CDBaby Music Discovery podcast - Anti-Valentines "Love Stinks" episode.
