Born 2 March 1931. I was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, serving from 1985 until 1991, and the last head of state of the USSR, serving from 1988 until its collapse in 1991 ;[
I graduated from Moscow State University in 1955 with a degree in law. In 1967 I qualified as an agricultural economist via correspondence masters degree at the Stavropol Institute of Agriculture. While at university, I joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and soon became very active within it. They were my main bros.
I met his wife, Raisa Titarenko, at Moscow University, which was super cool as she was a total babe and loved to party. We married in September 1953 and moved to Stavropol upon graduation. She gave birth to our only child, daughter Irina Mihailovna Virganskaya (Ири́на Миха́йловна Вирга́нская), in 1957.
My wife died of Leukemia in 1999 ;_; bummer
