Francesca is the recipient of 29 Film Awards including C. VanWinkle Award for creating programs about young filmmakers, and the influence of art in politics. She graduated from Art Center College of Design, breeding ground to filmmakers like Michael Bay, Sofia Coppola, and Zack Snyder.
Claudia + Francesca have worked with Robin Wright, Danny DeVito, as well as Massai warriors of Tanzania. MinxFilms is a boutique company producing branded content stories on art + Architecture and independent films about culture and our human experience. Some clients include The United Nations, Brown Jordan, Mandalay Bay Hotels and Casinos, Air Pacific, and United States Postal Service.
The Short Film "Stan Bitters Modern Primitive" screened at Heath Ceramics on May 30, 2014 to celebrate the Art Show of the same name - Stan Bitters is pivotal sculptor and his trajectory mirroring the growing impact of California on Mid Century Modern Movement. The film will screen live in San Francisco until June 30, 2014
Coming Soon: “The Untitled Mary Woronov Documentary ” The enigma of Mary Woronov, and her work with Andy Warhol and Roger Corman has deemed her a cult queen but this 90 minute documentary portrait reveals a pioneer rebelling against the perception of women's roles in movies, and a trajectory linking four decades of underground art and cinema threaded with Mary’s imprint. The feature length documentary is currently in Post Production
Francesca + Claudia are completing 8 episodic films for the digital channel “Under One Sun” that is partnered with National Geographic. The first phase of the project is dedicated to raising awareness about the rapid decline of the big cats surviving in the wild.
The coming of age drama, Silence Living in Houses, screened 63 film festivals internationally, won 19 prestigious awards. The original musical score is composed by Rolfe Kent. The film is distributed and broadcast in several countries, & in various languages. The film was recognized by the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. and the Anti Defamation League gave Francesca the Humanitarian Arts Achievement Award. For the project “La Milonga”, a film about tango starring Angie Ruiz, Francesca was honored in the Young Director’s Series sponsored by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) showcasing up & coming writer-directors.
