I enjoy being able to take an ordinary subject and transform it into a beautiful artwork through still or motion picture that my audience is able to connect with. Many people see their everyday environment and think nothing of it. I like to bring attention to these day-to-day items and highlight their essence.
I grew up in Normal, IL located in the center of the great midwest. I have been blessed to have traveled to many corners of the world such as China, Brazil, Russia and more. These experiences have driven me to continue to expose the beauty in the ordinary.
I’ve always had an interest in film and photography. I choose to study film and video at Columbia College of Chicago so I could fine tune my skills and learn the art of visual story telling. I graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in Film & Video Production. I had the privilege to assist a CSC cinematographer for a year and a half. During this time we traveled the world telling stories of corporate responsibility to humanity. After this I transitioned into working at an independent production house that produced commercials.
Today I live in New Orleans, LA with my wife. I am constantly searching for a project that will challenge me on how to expose the everyday with people in a new and exciting way through visual story telling.
I once received a fortune cookie that read, “You are capable, competent, creative, and careful. Prove it.” I have set out to do just that.
