I am interested in working with ideas of the tangible and the intangible and to question whether the world we live in, is but a mental construction. I am using my work to decipher my own existence, I believe that people and events are hieroglyphs and maps to be decoded; and since I can remember I have always been both fascinated and preoccupied with the most of existential concerns. By using still and moving images, sound, interactive devices and industrial materials such as mirror, glass, acrylic, I create visual exercises of perception where I can examine the relationships between the physical, emotional, rational and spiritual fields. The use of materials that compose the pieces is a result of years of experiments to reduce these ideas to their most simple expression thus generating a sense of magic and wonder as they are perceived. The work serves as a tool giving the viewers the chance to project or reflect their own personal narratives allowing them to navigate along the different layers and depths.
