Martin Thornton
I started composing music in 1994 and my first professional commission was in 1997 working with Theatre of Widdershins on their theatrical production of Rumpelstiltskin. I have since continued to compose music for film, theatre, concert hall and various exhibitions. Notable commissions include 2005 New York International Film & Video Festival award winner Do You Like Chinese?, 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe award winner The King's Got Donkey's Ears!, 2008 Washougal International Film Festival award winner Red Hood and 2011 Puppets On Film Jury Award winner The Tree Man. I also work as an assistant to composer Dominik Scherrer (Marple, Monroe, Christopher and his Kind, George Gently).
